"Motion by Mr. Dawson, Seconded by Ms. Johnson to approve the 2025 Tax Levy," the minutes record. The motion carried with yes votes from President Patterson, Vice President Dawson, Ms. Griffin, Mr. Hannah, Ms. Johnson and Mr. Myrick; Mr. Buchanan was absent. Chief School Business Official Cortnee Gutierrez had presented an update on the levy at the prior meeting and told the board the library renovation is on track for student occupancy in January.
Board members noted the levy approval is part of regular year-end finance actions that fund operations and services. The district later received notice from the Cook County Treasurer that property-tax receipts may not arrive until February 2026; Gutierrez said Lindop has about a five-month fund balance cushion but will monitor cash flow closely.
The board did not amend the levy at the meeting. The board's next regular session is scheduled for Jan. 20, 2026, when staff will continue routine fiscal and operational reporting.
