The commission unanimously supported a multi‑part package for La Casa De Esperanza that included recommending rezoning roughly 5.1402 acres to I‑1 institutional, approving a certified survey map to consolidate 13 parcels into one lot, and approving a final site plan for the southern portion of the properties at 735 Pleasant Street.
Staff told commissioners the actions follow prior approvals that allowed La Casa to relocate weatherization operations and that the organization is preparing the site for future school development on the north end. Staff recommended rezoning and consolidation to allow institutional operations across the site; site‑plan conditions included pavement repairs (grinding, milling, repaving), required landscaping buffers along Pleasant Street, inclusion of a masonry dumpster enclosure where dumpsters remain outside and an engineering concurrence letter prior to construction.
Commissioners voted unanimously on all three items. The chair also required the removal of water laterals as noted by the Waukesha water utility or an agreed schedule with the utility as part of the site‑plan conditions.
