The plan commission unanimously recommended approval of a 52,300‑square‑foot addition to the Waldau (Walledahl) manufacturing facility at 2001 South Prairie Avenue.
Staff described the project as a manufacturing expansion that includes additional production space, locker rooms and an office; the property is zoned M2 and staff recommended approval with conditions that engineering, fire department and water utility comments be addressed and that an engineering concurrence letter be provided prior to building permits. Commissioner Granger moved the recommendation and members applauded the company's prior landscaping and community investments during discussion.
The commission approved the architectural and site plans subject to the listed departmental conditions and the engineering concurrence requirement.
