Highway Superintendent Michael Croft told the board the new truck is on the road and that staff will ready a Volvo and a GMC 10‑wheeler for auction. Croft said he is researching replacement options for the 2008 GMC dump truck; a fully outfitted replacement would be about $100,000, he estimated, and he will continue to seek pricing and options.
Croft said Scott Crane received his commercial driver’s license, completed pre‑employment drug screening and will be added to the random quarterly Federal Motor Carrier CDL substance‑testing rotation. All highway employees are registered for Workplace Violence and Harassment/Discrimination training on Feb. 26, and Bookkeeper Becki Wheeler arranged an informational Deferred Compensation meeting on March 4 at the Town of Catharine that several highway staff will attend. Croft also circulated a form for board members to sign allowing him to spend from specific road‑improvement funds.
