Monroe committee forwards low bid for Well No. 5 booster pump to city council

The committee was presented with two quotes: WaterWell Solutions for approximately $51,335 to $55,405 and L.W. Allen for $56,894. Staff recommended accepting the lower WaterWell Solutions bid, saying the two quotes appeared to be for the same pump model and that the price difference reflected uncertain labor time to remove the old unit. "I would recommend that we go with the low quote for WaterWell Solutions to replace the booster and motor," a staff member said.
Committee members asked about vendor familiarity and lead times; staff estimated WaterWell Solutions' lead time at roughly 6–12 weeks and the other bidder at 16–24 weeks. A committee member moved to forward the WaterWell Solutions low bid to the city council and another member seconded. The motion passed on a roll-call vote; members present voted "Aye." Staff noted one related quote was incorrect or missing and that a related item would be added to the next meeting agenda.
The forward-to-council motion means the city council will consider awarding the contract after staff provide any additional missing quote information and council review.
