The Board unanimously approved the purchase of a 2026 EnviroSight SAT2 sewer camera truck at a total price of $448,636.17. Public Works Director Terry Ciciora said the purchase, procured through Sourcewell from NCL Government Capital, would replace a 2008 camera van that has been out of service for nearly four months and is relied on daily for inspections and compliance.
Ciciora told the board "the City is required by IDEM to have a certain amount of camera footage turned in every year," and said the Town of Merrillville had loaned equipment while Crown Point's van was unavailable. City Attorney Alex Kutanovski recommended approval, noting the truck would assist the city in tort claims and in identifying responsibility within sewer lines. Mayor Land said federal funding was targeted to pay the cost in full.
The board made no revisions to the procurement method at the meeting and approved the purchase by unanimous voice vote. The record does not list delivery or in-service dates.
