On June 12 the Board approved the district’s renewal of Workers’ Compensation coverage with the School Employees’ Loss Fund (SELF) at an annual contribution of $58,635 for the 2025–26 program year. Administration and the Finance Committee recommended SELF based on comparative quotes, available risk‑mitigation programs and service levels.
The SELF executive summary in the Board packet outlined the pool’s funding approach, stop‑loss retention of $1,000,000, investment income assumptions and a 60% loss‑funding confidence level for 2025–26. Administration said SELF provided improved training and claims management services and that the renewal reflects the district’s lower claims experience in the 2024–25 period.
The motion to approve the renewal was offered by Mrs. Peters and seconded by Dr. Long and passed in the recorded roll call. Administration will continue loss‑mitigation activities and monitor claims reporting as part of FY26 financial oversight.
