Parent urges transparency, more time for Dual Language Task Force work

During public comments at the Nov. 18 meeting, Cathy Curran, a Red Oak parent, urged greater transparency in the Dual Language Task Force process and cautioned that some members want more time at meetings rather than rushing decisions.
Earlier in the meeting Deputy Superintendent Dr. Monica Schroeder reported on the Dual Language Task Force's organization: three subcommittees (Student Success, Family Engagement and Facilities) have met, are meeting monthly, and are preparing items including a Request for Proposals for an outside consultant and planned family engagement surveys and tours. The administration said a Task Force Dashboard is posted on the district website to provide ongoing updates.
