District recommends rescinding withdrawal from TrueNorth 804 as cooperative proposes reorganization

North Shore SD 112 administration told the board on Oct. 21 it recommends rescinding the district’s June 26 notice of intent to withdraw from TrueNorth Educational Cooperative 804. Dr. Monica Schroeder said member districts and TrueNorth leadership have worked on a Reorganization Committee plan that would consolidate therapeutic programs into a single day school, continue itinerant and related services for sub‑1.0 FTE positions, eliminate membership fees (districts would pay only for services used), and fund administrative overhead through TrueNorth’s Evidence‑Based Funding allocation.
Schroeder said proposed bylaws incorporating those structural changes were presented to the TrueNorth Leadership Council on Oct. 15 for initial review; a final draft is expected to be presented to the Leadership Council for approval on Nov. 19. The district’s minutes state that the Board will need to rescind its withdrawal at the Nov. 19 Regular Board meeting so District 112 can remain a member of the cooperative. Board members and administration expressed appreciation for the progress of the reorganization work.
No formal board action to rescind had been taken at the Oct. 21 meeting; the recommendation will return to the Nov. 19 agenda with the TrueNorth bylaw vote.
