The North Shore SD 112 Board unanimously approved six Intergovernmental Agreements with the Exceptional Learners Collaborative (ELC) at its Oct. 21 regular meeting to secure occupational and physical therapy services for the 2025–26 school year.
Dr. Holly Colin told the board the agreements provide for four full‑time occupational therapists (annual cost $537,810) and two part‑time (0.5 FTE) physical therapists (annual cost $180,590.52), for a combined annual cost of $718,400.52. The administration recommended contracting for these services on an annual basis rather than hiring staff, citing fluctuating needs year to year. The motion to approve the agreements was moved by Mr. Bennett Lasko and seconded by Ms. Jenny Butler; the roll‑call vote was 7–0.
The minutes say the district will continue the partnership with ELC for 2025–26 to ensure consistent delivery of occupational and physical therapy services across the district. District staff noted that pending changes at TrueNorth may lead the administration to consider contracting with TrueNorth in the future, depending on the cooperative’s reorganization and revised fee structure.
