The Moriah Central School Board approved multiple personnel actions at its May 13 meeting. On the superintendent's recommendation the board appointed Malinda Fleming as a probationary Secondary Mathematics teacher (commencing Sept. 1, 2025 at step 8), Paige Barcomb and Joshua Winters as probationary Special Education teachers (each commencing Sept. 1, 2025 at step 2), and Brooke Sherburne and Jacob Silverstein as Physical Education teachers (steps 3 and 1, respectively). The minutes record the formal resolution language beginning "Whereas, William J. Larrow, Superintendent, Moriah Central School, has recommended the probationary appointment of..." for each hire.
The board also accepted a letter of resignation from Liam McDonough effective June 30, 2025 "with regret," and approved a one-year leave of absence for Kellie Valentine from Sept. 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. After executive session the board appointed Chynna Allen to the confidential clerk position, a 12-month appointment at a salary of $44,346 for the 2025-26 year, effective July 1, 2025.
All the personnel motions are recorded as carrying; specific vote tallies are not provided for most appointments beyond the standard "All in favor. Motion carried."
