Supervisor Anthony Fernandez used the Aug. 12 meeting to update the board on a cluster of administrative matters. He said the New York Comptroller's Office audit began on Aug. 11, 2025, and that he would share the results when available. On federal relief reporting, Fernandez said he submitted necessary SLFRF paperwork to the state and had not yet received confirmation but that the town "is not on the collection list," according to the auditor he spoke with.
Fernandez also reported that the town's tax accounting firm (PITS) has filed amended returns addressing IRS and Social Security record discrepancies for 2022 and a related 2023 tax penalty; the town is awaiting a response. On infrastructure, he said cell-tower footings have been placed, Verizon inquired about permits (which the county is handling) and work awaits a fiber connection from Lake Pleasant to Morehouse. A separate property-line dispute continues because a vendor has not returned calls; the board authorized the supervisor to seek another surveyor.
