At the Oct. 8 special workshop, Supervisor Anthony Fernandez proposed a uniform 6% cost-of-living raise for all town employees and said the board aims to bring town wages closer to county pay scales. "There will be a 6% cost of living raise for every employee," Fernandez said as he reviewed the tentative 2026 budget.
When a public attendee raised questions about raises, Fernandez added that two employees would receive an additional 2% merit increase on top of the 6% to address pay parity with county positions. The minutes do not identify which specific positions will receive the merit increases; Fernandez said further discussion and formal action would occur in subsequent meetings ahead of the Oct. 14 public hearing.
