Morehouse Town Board approves minutes, officers' reports and budget amendment; discusses repairs and infrastructure

The Morehouse Town Board convened on July 8, 2025, at the Morehouse Town Hall. Town Supervisor Anthony Fernandez called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., led the Pledge of Allegiance and read the attendance. Brian Taylor moved to accept the June 10, 2025 minutes and Mary Ann Mosher seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Supervisor Fernandez said the board accepted officers' reports and reviewed a range of routine town business, including implementation of the AccuFund accounting software, IT security updates, and multiple facility-maintenance items. Fernandez said the AccuFund system has been implemented and staff are "working out the kinks" before enabling direct deposit. He also reported that a contractor, Pete Newell, installed a cloud backup and antivirus on the clerk's computer and the machine used with AccuFund.
The board approved two formal resolutions during the meeting: Resolution #25-7-2 amending 2025 budget appropriations for CHIPS, EWR, POP and PAVENY, and Resolution #25-7-1 authorizing $73,503.13 in pavement maintenance expenditures for the Mountain Home Road/Wilmurt Road intersection to be paid from Account DA-5112.5400. Both measures passed on recorded motions with no reported nay votes. The meeting adjourned following an executive session called for a personnel matter.
