Morehouse board reviews highway truck, town garage repairs and cell-tower access work

Supervisor Anthony Fernandez updated the board on a cluster of infrastructure and service items at the May 13 meeting. He said Highway Superintendent Hugh Farber is still evaluating a candidate truck purchase for the Highway Department and will advise the supervisor when he reaches a decision. Fernandez reported that vendor quotes remain outstanding for boiler and furnace repairs and that one more vendor will inspect the systems before the board selects a contractor.
On the town garage insurance claim, Fernandez said carpenters had begun roof and pole repairs and the town is awaiting an electrician's price to include in the claim. He also provided an update on a cell tower project, saying, "they will start working on the roadway very soon and will be putting the cable in the ground that has to run from Lake Pleasant to Arietta to Morehouse." The board left several items open for follow-up and did not take final procurement votes at this meeting.
