Morehouse board outlines summer events, snowmobile equipment needs and cell tower progress

Supervisor Anthony Fernandez told the board the Morehouse Kids Fishing Derby will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, and that he is exploring a Hamilton County Soil & Water fish-stocking program to supply 10–12-inch fish for ponds. Fernandez said he discussed allowing children under 13 to fish during specified windows that would be set by a town law intended to protect youth fishing access around the derby.
Fernandez also noted a Memorial Day parade in Indian Lake on May 26 at 1 p.m., reported that fiber installation related to a cell tower project will run from Lake Pleasant to Arietta to Morehouse, and said the town's snowmobile season closed successfully but that some grooming equipment needs repair or replacement. A resident asked if JR could inspect and repair sleds; Fernandez said JR will be working in spring and summer to assess and fix equipment and that the town could follow procurement options used by the county sheriff if replacements are needed.
"The Kids Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday June 21st, 2025," Fernandez said, and asked the board to consider drafting a town law to formalize the fishing windows and rules.
