Morehouse board signs off on repairs, system upgrades and town projects

The Morehouse Town Board approved multiple maintenance and operational items on June 10, including a $1,500 repair to the Recreation Center boiler after a contractor recommended replacing parts rather than the whole unit. Brian Taylor moved to approve the repair for $1,500; William Uebele seconded and the motion carried with three ayes.
Supervisor Anthony Fernandez reported several other facility and systems updates: the Morehouse Historical Museum’s ventilation system and dehumidifier are installed but the museum may need outside contractors for roof and steeple work; playground sand is being removed and will be replaced with wood chips once edging is installed; the Recreation Center porch footings are prepared and construction will start after dry weather; National Grid expects streetlight movements to be completed by the end of June; and Hamilton County staffer Jodie Small has begun implementing AccuFund accounting software with an abbreviated timeline.
