Resident presses town on junk-and-refuse enforcement; codes enforcer has begun inspections

During the public comment period Dan Key asked whether the Junk and Refuse law enacted a few years ago had delivered improvements, saying, “A few years back there was a Junk and Refuge Law set up here in town, I was just wondering if anything has come of that law, because I haven’t seen any improvements.”
Supervisor Anthony Fernandez responded that the town’s new codes enforcer, Ed Post, had begun visiting properties and handing out letters before cleanup day; Fernandez said the town will allow time for voluntary compliance and take additional enforcement steps if properties are not cleaned. Ed Post submitted a related report later in the meeting documenting numerous zoning inquiries and enforcement activity.
