Clark County proclaims World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and highlights 2025 protective services data

Denise Loges, Deputy Director of Clark County Family and Children Services, presented a proclamation marking World Elder Abuse Awareness and Wear Purple Day and urged residents to report suspected abuse. “These are not just numbers and statistics, they represent our grandparents, our parents, our neighbors, and we must be their voice,” Loges said.
Commissioner Sasha L. Rittenhouse presented the proclamation and recognized Family and Children Services staff for their work protecting seniors. The department noted 763 referrals in 2025 and 157 adult protective services cases opened that year. Commissioners said awareness helps open the door to intervention and thanked staff for their efforts.
