NRMAC to seek public review of open‑space plan after formatting and mapping edits

Commission staff reported progress on the county open‑space plan and recommended structural edits to simplify future updates. A staff member said much of the current document requires formatting work and proposed moving demographic information into an appendix so future revisions would not require repeated demographic updates. She suggested scheduling a public‑review session—possibly 4–6 p.m.—to gather input on a July draft and then integrate that feedback into a proposed version for commissioners.
Commissioners and mapping leads said they have been coordinating with the Forest Service, BLM and others to assemble resource layers and that DRI and local groups have been contacted about technical mapping assistance. Staff proposed targeting a draft for July and collecting feedback at the July meeting before proceeding to larger updates or moving onto the water plan.
