Rankin committee opts not to accept performance ratings from other districts

The SB 7 RIF Committee for Rankin School District 98 considered whether to include performance evaluation ratings administered by another district or joint agreement when constructing the sequence-of-dismissal ratings. The minutes record that the committee "did not agree to include within the definition of a performance evaluation rating a performance evaluation rating administered by a school district or joint agreement other than the school district or joint agreement determining the sequence of dismissal." As a result, the committee agreed not to accept external performance ratings for that purpose.
Committee members finished the questionnaire item and moved on; no formal motion or recorded roll-call vote accompanied this decision. The committee also noted that, if a member requests, the employing board must provide anonymized lists of recent and prior ratings within specified statutory timelines for the committee’s review.
