Assistant Superintendent Jeremy Davis presented a tentative tax levy request for 2025 of $93,881,137 at the Oct. 14 Committee of the Whole meeting, describing it as a 4.5% increase over the 2024 levy.
Davis said state law caps levy extensions to the previous year’s extension plus inflation (CPI-U) or 5%, whichever is lower, and that new property added to the tax rolls (County estimate $17.02 million) is not subject to that cap. He said the administration recommends the proposed levy to ensure funds are available to complete Phase 2 construction, keep pace with inflation-driven cost increases for payroll and contracted services, and maintain the board’s 25% fund-balance policy.
Davis said the administration will present the formal levy and hold a public hearing at the Nov. 18 regular board meeting, where the board will be asked to approve the levy. The minutes record no public comment on the levy at this meeting.
