Administrators used the March 10 board meeting to highlight student achievements and upcoming school activities. Mr. Yocum recognized Camden Wallace (6th grade) for a fifth-place finish in the county chess tournament and noted that 8th graders Kynleigh Sinnreich and Samara Blumenshine finished in 10th place; Parkview’s spelling bee champion is 8th grader Emily Elston. Jason Thompson reported Reading Night on March 5 was successful and that 205 books were purchased from Scholastic for distribution.
Administrators outlined testing and incentive schedules: Parkview students will participate in IAR testing the week of March 16 with make-up testing the week of March 23; third- and fourth-graders at LaSalle will also test the week of March 16. Incentives and events include Pi Day activities on March 13, a Neon Glow Party incentive on March 25, spring parties on March 27, an Honor Roll breakfast the week before spring break, and Warrior Way ticket sales for the annual Buy-Out Day. The board heard these reports and no public comments were recorded on the items.
These updates give families dates and expectations for testing windows and school events leading into spring break.
