Board approves $72,783 HMH K–2 curriculum and $38,937 network upgrade

At the April 14 meeting the board approved two substantial instructional and infrastructure purchases aimed at classroom readiness for 2026–27.
Brenda Keogel moved and Valerie Ragon seconded approval to purchase the HMH Into Reading curriculum for kindergarten, first and second grades at a total cost of $72,783.01. The motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote. Board members noted the purchase will support literacy instruction across early grades.
In a separate action, the board approved Heart Technology's proposal to purchase and install access points, switches, and cabling at a cost of $38,937.03 (motion by Pam Greiner, second by Brenda Keogel). The motion passed unanimously; the work is intended to improve school Wi‑Fi and network reliability ahead of the next school year.
