Superintendent Steve Johnson reported that the Illinois State Board of Education has formally approved the district’s School Maintenance Grant, which the district will use toward pump replacement and door replacement at LaSalle Elementary and toward the Parkview School re-roof project. Bids for the LaSalle door replacement and Parkview re-roof are scheduled for April 7, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.; bid approvals are planned for the regular April 14 board meeting.
Johnson also noted that Parkview’s new stage curtain has been ordered and that Tazewell-Woodford County Head Start will purchase new carpet for the Head Start room at LaSalle Elementary. The board approved procurement steps and scheduling to keep the projects on a spring construction timeline. The district also reported the Food Service Department will begin Year 2 of its four-year ISBE approval on July 1, 2026.
The board’s authorization to solicit bids and the grant approval move planned capital work forward; administrators said the AIRS Needs Assessment (completed March 9) will inform the school improvement plan and may influence future maintenance priorities.
