President Linda Bailey opened the April 14 meeting of the Board of Education of Creve Coeur School District No. 76 and the board took a series of facilities votes that will fund immediate building work.
Valerie Ragon moved to approve the proposal provided by Peoria Metro Construction for two new exterior entrance doors at LaSalle Elementary School at a cost of $73,000; Brenda Keogel seconded and the motion carried on a roll-call vote of five yeas (Keogel, Ragon, Stimeling, Greiner, Bailey) and two nays (Lang, Shear). The board separately approved Diversified Mechanical Inc.'s bid for the installation of four HVAC pumps at LaSalle Elementary at a cost of $19,000; that motion, moved by Keogel and seconded by Ragon, passed unanimously.
In another facilities action, the board authorized Superintendent Johnson to submit a Health Life Safety amendment to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in the amount of $32,000 to be used for completion of the re-roofing project at Parkview School. Brandon Lang moved the authorization and Brenda Keogel seconded; the roll-call vote was unanimous.
The board's votes mean work on entry security and HVAC performance at LaSalle can proceed and that the district will pursue state-level Health Life Safety funding to finish Parkview's roof project. The motions approving the door and HVAC contracts were taken from agenda action items and recorded in the meeting minutes.
