County resubmits DCIP application for sewer trunk line to serve school corridor

County staff are pursuing a sewer trunk‑line project intended to carry sewer service along U.S. 280, State Route 27 and State Route 26 toward the county school complex. County Manager Thomas Weaver said the county has resubmitted the Defense Community Infrastructure Program (DCIP) application and that work on the required environmental study and design is underway; he noted this is the county's third submittal for the grant.
"This is our third go with this, and it's for that infrastructure, the main trunk line that will go down 280, 27, and out 26 toward our school," Weaver said, adding that an environmental study is the immediate next step to secure a full notice to proceed. Staff said they will report status updates to the commission as the application and environmental documentation progress.
