The Unified Government of Cusseta‑Chattahoochee County voted to award the Liberty Hill Road and Riverbend Road repair and resurfacing contract to Oxford Construction Company for $1,881,155. SOWEGA Engineering recommended Oxford as the lowest responsive, responsible bidder after reviewing bid bonds, qualifications and references.
J. Paul Rakel, Jr., P.E., for SOWEGA wrote in the bid recommendation: "Therefore, based on our review and investigation, we recommend the award of the contract for the Repair and Resurfacing of Libert Hill Road and Riverbend Road to Oxford Construction Company for $1,881,155.00 as the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder." Commissioner Timothy Biddle made the motion to approve the award and Commissioner Gerald Douglas seconded; the vote was unanimous. The county manager and staff will execute the notice of award and contract documents for the chairman's signature as directed by the engineering recommendation.
