Washington Community High School recognized student achievements during the June 9 meeting.
The board acknowledged Joseph Atkins for finishing second in the shot put at the IHSA State Track & Field Championship and Benjamin Gorsage for placing third in the 800 meters. The board also recognized Isaac DeSutter, Grady Hahn and Miles Moloney for achieving a perfect 36 on the ACT. "Coach Engstrom spoke on the hard work and dedication of the athletes with their impressive season," the minutes record.
Board recognition is a formal acknowledgment on the public record; the district will include these honors in school communications and year-end materials.
