Planning staff presented ROWVAC26-064, a request by Vincent Squatrito to vacate and realign a portion of Monte Carlo Drive to match the existing built roadway. Staff recommended approval with conditions requiring a concurrent dedication and recorded street-dedication documents. The Jackpot Advisory Council recommended approval.
Bob Thibault, representing the applicants, explained that a mapped right-of-way missed the built gravel roadway and that the owner discovered the issue when staking property corners. He described the request as a straightforward correction to align legal mapping with the existing improvements. "Long story short, the Squatritto's bought this property recently and have discovered these issues and they're trying to get everything compliant and cohesive," Thibault said.
Commissioner Roche moved to forward the right-of-way vacation and recommended approval with staff conditions; the motion carried by voice vote. Staff noted title would revert to the adjacent parcel owner upon vacation and that Elko County would reserve easements for public utilities as needed.
