Staff (S2) updated the board that Reed Cleaners remains a core priority and that testing and assessment work will continue under a new vendor contract the town manager signed. Staff asked for an update to be posted on the Select Board Slack and indicated a fuller public status update could be provided in September.
"Reed Cleaners property remains as a core priority that is moving forward, with still the testing to be finalized. I did sign, for a vendor to, continue with the cleaning. They would be on the assessment work needed," Staff member (S2) said. Board members asked for clarification on funding constraints and timelines; staff noted federal funding rules limit immediate town‑led expenditure and that cumulative remediation costs to date exceed $1,000,000.
