Town staff proposes housing production plan and possible housing coordinator role

Staff (S2) urged the board to examine a housing production plan to give the town an actionable roadmap for where and what type of housing to encourage, and proposed exploring a housing coordinator — either as a reallocation of the town planner's duties or as a grant‑funded/vendor position.
"If this is going to be an area of focus that you have the town has clearly demonstrated, a strong support for affordable housing, focusing on it, putting money aside for it through the season... So that's why I put that on the list, for consideration of inclusion, is formulate a plan," Staff member (S2) said. Several board members preferred an in‑house or grant‑funded approach before recommending hiring a new full‑time staffer.
