Commission tables vehicle-policy changes after dispute; orders sheriff to return truck

Commissioner Jason Frost moved to table vehicle-policy changes until the next work session; the motion carried unanimously.
During a subsequent executive session on Jan. 26 to discuss personnel and legal matters, the commission reconvened and instructed the sheriff to return the truck to the county manager’s office by noon Friday or deliver the vehicle that was promised in trade. Chairman Charles Coffey said the closed-session topics fell within legal exceptions to open‑meetings law and that no votes were taken while the session was closed.
