Torrington council approves bills, hears Fire Department update and thanks donors for pool passes

Councilman Kelly moved and Councilman Viktorin seconded to approve the bills presented for payment. Fire Chief Schick provided a brief update on recent calls and said the volunteer department is preparing for extensive training at the end of July and into August. Councilman Viktorin thanked the Torrington Shrine Club for donating 133 pool passes for children and reported Pinnacle Bank purchased 125 additional passes; he said he appreciates the groups' support. The council also heard announcements about the July 24 "Cops and Cones" event at Dale Jones Municipal Pool and that annual Active Threat Training is underway at Eastern Wyoming College to align regional law-enforcement responses.
Mayor Doby adjourned the meeting at 6:42 p.m.
