The Torrington City Council voted unanimously on July 21 to suspend the liquor license of Adrian Garcia d/b/a Thirsty's after the Wyoming Liquor Division placed the business on a sales-tax hold for delinquency.
Deputy City Clerk Servantez told the council that the Wyoming Liquor Division had notified the city of the delinquency and said the hold remained in place as of 4:00 p.m. before the meeting. "Wyoming statute allows the local licensing authority to suspend any license if the licensee fails to pay sales tax," Servantez said. Chief of Police Johnson added that the suspension notice "will be served immediately following the conclusion of the Council meeting" and that the license holder may not serve liquor until the state hold is cleared.
The council approved the suspension motion and directed the Torrington Police Department to serve the notice immediately after the meeting. The transcript does not record any statement from the licensee at the meeting; council action was taken based on the state notice in the meeting packet.
