Sally Anne, representing Nevada Health Centers, told the Elko County Board of Health the center is recruiting several clinical staff for Elko and Jackpot (an MD and APRNs, plus medical assistants) and has expanded immunization clinics to full-day events ahead of school start, delivering about 15 vaccinations on the first all‑day clinic versus a typical 5–6.
She outlined a schedule of children’s vaccine clinics (July 15, 22, 29; Aug. 5 and 12) and mammovan visits to Wendover (Aug. 18–19), Carlin (Aug. 20) and Elko (Oct. 30; plus Oct. 27–28 in Wendover). "Today with being our 1st day, we ended up doing about 15," she said of the immunization clinic. Sally Anne also described expansion of mobile medical services into Carlin, Wells, Jackpot and Montello, a June CPR class with about 15 participants, a successful dental sealant program, and that behavioral-health staff recently referred a mother and daughter for psychiatric evaluation after a crisis.
Board members thanked the presenter and discussed coordination to reach older residents who cannot travel to clinic sites.
