Downtown West Bend launches podcast and extends summer events

Phil, representing the Downtown West Bend Association, told the BID board the downtown events program has been active through the summer with highlights including the late-night Loo (June 26), a Summer Hospitality Pass on July 23 and extended Music on Main concerts through early September. Phil said the farmers market will continue through Oct. 31 and that the Wheels on Main car show is planned for Sept. 6, with an expectation of 400–500 automobiles. "We had people go to the different bars and restaurants that were participating," Phil said of the Hospitality Pass.
Phil introduced the association's new events coordinator and co-host of an upcoming podcast. Van Jaeger described the new show as a 15–20 minute weekly spotlight on downtown businesses and partners, saying, "Our program that we're starting up is a new podcast for the, downtown West Bend, and it's called Stroller on the Bend." Board members said they support on-location episodes and promotional tie-ins with restaurants and sponsors. The BID did not take formal action on the podcast announcement; staff will continue event planning and marketing.
