Commissioners name Baker chair and Valenzuela vice chair for 2026

During the nominations portion of the meeting the chair nominated Miss Baker for the 2026 chair position; a commissioner seconded the nomination and commissioners voted in favor. The chair then asked Commissioner Valenzuela whether she would serve as vice chair; Valenzuela agreed and the commission approved her as vice chair for 2026 by voice vote. There was no opposition recorded on the motions.
The leadership selections were procedural and will take effect for the 2026 term; the chair indicated Baker will assume the role next year. The commission proceeded to other business following the appointments.
