Council approves street closures for Bedford Center Fest on Sept. 19

Town Council of Bedford on Aug. 4 approved a consent-agenda request from the Central Virginia Business Coalition to close streets for Bedford Center Fest on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Heather Alto, executive director of the Central Virginia Business Coalition, told council the event is essentially the same footprint as past years, has run for 48 years and currently has a vendor wait list. Councilman Stacy Haley made the motion to approve the street closures, Councilman Jay Eppolito seconded, and the motion passed unanimously 7–0.
Warner said affected businesses and first responders would be notified; the closure request and list of streets were included in the posted agenda packet.
