County clerk outlines primary ballot programming, absentee ballots and need for poll workers

Randolph County Clerk Brenda Wiseman told the commission on March 5 that following the Feb. 24 drawing for ballot positions the clerks office submitted files to Election Systems and Software (ES&S) for ballot programming and will review ballot proofs with two ballot commissioners before finalizing printing.
Wiseman said her office is accepting absentee ballot applications and is seeking poll workers and backups. She also noted that independent voters can no longer request a Republican ballot during the primary and reminded voters they may change their registration through April 21. Wiseman said the office ordered county "I Voted" stickers featuring the county winner; the statewide winner will appear only on the sticker in the winner's home county, she said.
