Select Board members raised concerns on April 13 that a fundraiser letter and a monument order for a proposed 911 memorial went out without prior board approval. Manager Judie Milner told the board Chief Jones was unavailable to present and that she had not been informed about the fundraiser or order before it issued.
Selectperson Jeanie Forrester said she was “100% behind this idea, however, it should have been presented to the board first,” and the board asked Manager Milner to see if the monument order could be canceled. Milner was asked to prepare a parks/monuments policy for the May 11 meeting so the board can set rules for future projects and fundraising in public spaces. No final decision on the memorial or the fundraiser was made at the April 13 meeting.
