During the public-comment period on April 21, resident Danielle Bowman of 515 Page Avenue expressed concern about removal of trees on Page Avenue boulevards tied to the Page Avenue Reconstruction Project and asked about accessibility and tree replacements. Public Works Director Arnold acknowledged rehabilitation work on nearby paths and indicated access would be restored after project completion; Council members asked staff to examine options for tree replacement and monitor boulevard impacts.
Tom Hagen of 927 Lake Street raised concerns about rumors that the City was moving forward with a data center and also asked about the proposed Public Works building and the Climate Action Plan. City Administrator McCann and Community Development Director Fischer clarified that the City is working with firms on an AUAR for lands outside city limits and that "the City does not have a proposal for a data center," with Fischer adding that necessary environmental studies would be completed if a proposal emerged. Attorney Kennedy explained that by state statute the City may enter nondisclosure agreements for limited purposes, such as preventing price-gouging in land negotiations. The Council acknowledged resident comments and directed staff to provide clarifications as requested.
