Leslie Mahaffey, representing the museum, told council that the museum received a grant from the Lynchburg Community Trust to install a new blue-and-cream sign with the museum logo. She also said the museum contracted local vendor KNK Signs for historical banners, and she displayed a sample featuring Thomas Jefferson and Poplar Forest.
Mahaffey said the banners follow the council-established sign policy and that she will deliver the completed set to town staff for installation. Council members praised the look of the sign and encouraged residents to support the local vendor.
No council action was required; the museum is moving forward with the signage and banner installation.
