The City of Pateros council unanimously adopted Resolution 2026-2 to enter a professional-services agreement with Varela & Associates for general engineering services. The motion, made by Councilmember Bruce Henne and seconded by Mike Harding, passed with no recorded opposition.
City Administrator Jord Wilson said the agreement is intended to permit Varela & Associates to review small projects without requiring a lengthy engineering amendment process. The resolution authorizes the mayor to sign the agreement but records that execution is contingent on review by the new city attorney.
