Deputy City Manager John Eason told the EDA that Riverview Heights is at 99% design completion and Herb Bridge Road is roughly 98% complete; subsurface utility locates and topographical right‑of‑way work have been completed and draft final drawings are under staff review.
"Riverview Heights project is at 99% completion for design... Once we get done with our review, they'll go back to the engineering firm to make any final corrections, updates, and then that project will be completed," Eason said. He added that for Herb Bridge the team is preparing draft final design drawings and will seek easements from adjacent property owners once final drawings are ready.
On the business agenda the board later moved and approved a $1,000,000 EDA grant award to the City of Coachella for the Herb Bridal (Herb Bridge) Loop Water Main project effective Oct. 1, 2025, authorizing the chair or county manager to sign necessary documents. The motion passed unanimously.
Board members thanked presenters and asked follow‑ups about schedule and easement acquisition; staff said they will return final drawings for review before moving to property negotiations and construction bidding.
