Superintendent announces Wellness Day, choir performance, pool upgrades and staff changes

Superintendent Kapolka used the communications portion of the Oct. 20 meeting to highlight several community and district items. Kapolka said the district will host Chelsea Family Wellness Day Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to noon at the WSEC Building 100 and "we will have 25 local organization participating this year." The superintendent also noted National School Safety Week activities began Oct. 20 and that Chelsea High School Choir has been selected to perform the national anthem at Little Caesars Arena on Nov. 5, 2025.
Kapolka recognized work to refresh Charles Cameron Pool with new wall graphics and LED lighting; staff Jessie Hinderer and Ross Potgiesser were thanked for their work. The superintendent also acknowledged the departure of Doug Whitsel, Director of Safety and Security, whose last day was Oct. 17; the district will post the position in the coming weeks. The minutes record a Bulldog Jog fundraising total "a little over $20,000 this year."
