Superintendent Kapolka presented a draft donation agreement prepared by Thrun Law Firm that would formalize a donation from John Daniels and the Chelsea Athletic Boosters to fund construction of a new Fieldhouse. "The agreement formalizes the donation from John Daniels and the Chelsea Athletic Boosters who are serving as the fiduciary agent in the financial transaction, to fund the design and construction of the Fieldhouse," she said, and the district would maintain full ownership and oversight of the facility.
Kapolka said all donated funds would be restricted to the Fieldhouse project in alignment with Michigan law and district policy (CSD Board Policy 2202 on Gifts and Donations). She told trustees bids will be solicited in early November and ground breaking is slated for later in June or early July 2026; the final agreement will appear as an action item on the Oct. 20, 2025 board agenda.
