The commission voted against Resolution 081825056, a request to rezone 7.46 acres on Swift Road from AG-2 to RP-80, after public testimony and commissioner questions about infrastructure and access.
James Davis, who identified himself and said the plan would retain an existing house and create three additional lots, described the subdivision plan and the reason for the rezoning. Commissioners pressed on whether Swift Road is wide enough, whether driveway permits are in place and whether traffic and safety issues had been studied; one commissioner said, "I don't know how wide it is," and another asked whether planning and traffic studies would be completed before voting.
Planning staff said some items would come back to the commission and that Amanda with planning would follow up with traffic studies; commissioners said they were not comfortable approving the rezoning until certain infrastructure and permitting questions were resolved. The chair announced the outcome as "does not pass" in the meeting record.
Because of the vote, the applicant was advised to consult zoning staff and return with any corrected submission or additional documentation addressing road and driveway issues.
