The Robertson County Commission elected Billy Bogle as its chair and approved a broad set of committee assignments during the Aug. 18 meeting.
Commissioner Stobelfield, presenting the nominating committee's recommendations, said, "I'd like to nominate Billy Bogle" for chair and then outlined proposed memberships for building and grounds, education, solid waste, health and safety, finance and other committees. Commissioners approved the slate by voice vote after a brief roll call on the motion.
The committee report listed several specific appointments and replacements, including nominations to the finance and education committees and changes on the fire and law enforcement committees. The commission recorded the nominations as approved on the motion presented (vote recorded in the meeting as 23-4-0). The chair then opened and processed nominations for commission pro tem; an initial nomination did not carry after a separate motion failed. The commission moved on to the public hearing portion of the agenda after confirming committee rosters.
The nominations affect oversight for budgeting, planning, public safety and other county functions for the coming term; commissioners noted the importance of committee continuity and thanked outgoing and incoming members for their service.
