The Board of Education for Marysville Public Schools voted unanimously Sept. 17 to approve an MHSAA cooperative agreement that will allow Marysville students to play lacrosse during the 2025-26 academic year.
According to the motion recorded in the minutes, the agreement joins Marysville with St. Clair High School, Marine City High School and Cardinal Mooney so that “Marysville may provide an opportunity for its students to play LaCrosse for the 2025-26 academic year.” Kirk Smith made the motion and Colleen Dodson supported it. The roll-call vote was recorded as five ayes (Kirk Smith, Colleen Dodson, Barry Kreiner, Nick Thomas and Dave Schmorrow) and no nays; the motion carried.
Superintendent Tracie Eschenburg had introduced the cooperative agreement as part of her report. The minutes show no additional conditions or amendments attached to the approval. The Board adjourned at 6:44 p.m.
